ParentRecall is a private memory aid for adults. Use it fairly, keep information limited, and do not use it to monitor or harm anyone.
A 7-day free trial, then £2.99/month or £29.99/year (shown in your local currency where supported). One subscription covers your whole household. Cancel anytime, and we never delete your data for non-payment.
No photographs, no public profiles, no social feed, shortened surnames, private household accounts.
If nobody signs in for 12 months we delete the account and its data, after warning you by email first.
1. About these Terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ParentRecall, including the ParentRecall website, web application, Progressive Web App, Apple App Store app and Google Play app.
ParentRecall is operated by Pacedall Labs Ltd (“ParentRecall”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By creating an account, installing the app, accessing the website or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use ParentRecall.
2. What ParentRecall is
ParentRecall is a private memory aid for parents, guardians and carers. It helps adults remember names and basic details of people connected with their child’s school, clubs, classes and activities, such as classmates, fellow parents, coaches and instructors.
ParentRecall is deliberately not a social network. There are no public profiles, feeds, comments, messaging tools, friend-finding features, public directories or ways for one household to search for another household’s data.
The service is designed around data minimisation. It does not allow photo uploads, does not store photographs, and uses illustrated avatar settings rather than real images.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create a ParentRecall account.
You may only use ParentRecall where you have a genuine personal or household reason to remember the information you enter. For example, using it to remember your child’s classmates, other parents, teachers, coaches or club contacts is acceptable. Using it to build lists about people for unrelated, commercial, intrusive or harmful purposes is not acceptable.
ParentRecall is not intended for children to create accounts or use directly.
4. Your account
You are responsible for:
- providing accurate account information;
- keeping your password and device secure;
- all activity that takes place under your account;
- making sure the information you enter is limited, appropriate and lawful; and
- telling us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
You can contact us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.
5. Household accounts and shared access
A household account may include up to three adults in total: the account administrator plus up to two other people you invite, such as a partner, spouse, co-parent, guardian, carer or nanny. Everyone you invite must be at least 18 years old.
The account administrator controls the account. The administrator may add, rename, hide or remove children, add or delete clubs and classes, invite or remove other household members, export the household data and delete the account.
An invited household member may view, add and edit people and group information within the household account, but has more limited permissions than the administrator.
If you invite another person, you confirm that you have their permission to invite them and that they are an appropriate adult to have access to the information in your household account, including information about other people’ children. Removing a household member revokes their access, but information they previously added remains in the account unless the administrator edits or deletes it.
6. Information you enter about other people
ParentRecall allows you to record limited information about other people, including children and adults. This is sensitive from a trust perspective even where the information is deliberately minimised.
You agree that you will only enter information where:
- you have a genuine personal or household reason to remember it;
- the information is relevant and proportionate for that purpose;
- the information is not intrusive, excessive or unfair;
- you do not use the service to monitor, target, profile, harass or harm anyone; and
- you delete information when you no longer need it.
You must not enter unnecessary sensitive information, including health, medical, disability, religion, ethnicity, political opinion, sexual orientation or other special-category information. ParentRecall is a name-and-face memory aid and does not need that information.
7. Privacy-by-design controls
ParentRecall includes controls intended to reduce privacy risk. These include:
- children are recorded by first name only;
- surnames of people added to the service are automatically shortened to three characters;
- parent/carer names are limited in length;
- no photographs or uploaded images are stored;
- avatars are illustrated configurations selected by the user, never generated from a real face;
- free-text memory notes are capped at 80 characters, so they stay short prompts rather than profiles;
- the service warns you on screen if a memory note appears to contain sensitive information, such as health, religion or ethnicity;
- household lists are private and are not searchable by others;
- there is no public directory, feed or social graph;
- children and groups can be hidden reversibly as an alternative to deleting them;
- users can export or delete their account data; and
- accounts that are not used are deleted automatically (see section 16).
You must not attempt to bypass, disable, manipulate or work around these safeguards.
8. Subscriptions and payment
ParentRecall is a paid subscription service that begins with a 7-day free trial. The trial starts when you create your account and needs no payment details — you are not asked for a card to start or use it. To keep using ParentRecall after the trial you subscribe to a plan and provide payment details at that point.
Plans and prices. The current plans are a monthly plan or an annual plan, including VAT or sales tax where applicable. Prices are charged in your local currency where we support it, and the exact price is always shown before you confirm payment. Current prices are:
- Monthly: £2.99 (GBP) · $3.99 (USD) · €3.49 (EUR) · CA$5.99 (CAD) · A$5.99 (AUD) · NZ$6.49 (NZD)
- Annual: £29.99 (GBP) · $39.99 (USD) · €34.99 (EUR) · CA$59.99 (CAD) · A$59.99 (AUD) · NZ$62.99 (NZD)
The currency available to you may depend on your country; if your country is not listed, prices are charged in pounds sterling (GBP). One subscription covers a single household account (the admin and up to two further members). We may change our prices in future; we will give you reasonable notice by email before a change to the price of your existing plan takes effect, and the new price will apply only from your next renewal.
What happens when the trial ends. If you have not subscribed by the time your 7-day free trial ends, your account becomes read-only (see “Failed payments and non-payment” below) until you subscribe — you are never charged automatically for a trial you did not turn into a paid subscription. If you subscribe while you still have trial days left, we do not charge you until those days are used up.
Automatic renewal. Once you subscribe, your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period — each month for the monthly plan, or each year for the yearly plan — using the payment method on file, until you cancel.
How to cancel. You can cancel at any time from Account → Subscription & billing, or by emailing [email protected]. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for (or, during the trial, until the trial ends), and you will not be charged again. Cancelling does not delete your data.
Your 14-day cancellation right. As a consumer you have a legal right to cancel this contract within 14 days of entering into it, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Your 7-day free trial falls within this period, and cancelling during the trial simply ends it with nothing to pay. If you have asked us to begin the paid service before the end of that 14-day period and then cancel, we may charge a proportionate amount for the service already provided.
Refunds. Except where you have a legal right to a refund — including the 14-day right above and your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if the service is faulty — payments are generally non-refundable, including for partial billing periods. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Payment processing. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Your card details are provided directly to Stripe and are not stored on our servers. How Stripe handles your information is described in our Privacy Policy and in Stripe’s own privacy notice.
Failed payments and non-payment. If a renewal payment fails we may retry it and may pause the paid features of your account. If your trial ends or your subscription lapses without payment, your account becomes read-only: you can still sign in, view your existing lists and export your data, but adding, editing and Memory Practice are paused until you subscribe again. We will not delete your data because of non-payment. Unused accounts remain subject to the deletion process in section 16.
If ParentRecall is later made available through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the relevant store’s payment, cancellation and refund rules may also apply, and the store rather than we may handle billing.
9. Apple App Store and Google Play
If you download or use ParentRecall through Apple App Store or Google Play, your use of that app store is also governed by the applicable store terms.
Apple and Google are not responsible for providing ParentRecall, maintaining the service, supporting the service, handling ParentRecall privacy requests, or resolving claims relating to ParentRecall except to the extent required by their own terms or applicable law.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and mandatory Apple App Store or Google Play requirements, the relevant mandatory app store requirement will apply only to the extent necessary to resolve that conflict.
10. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use ParentRecall for unlawful, harmful, abusive, discriminatory, intrusive or exploitative purposes;
- enter information that is false, defamatory, abusive, threatening, obscene or unlawful;
- use the service to stalk, monitor, profile, target, shame or harass anyone;
- attempt to access another household’s data;
- probe, scan, test, interfere with or bypass security controls;
- scrape, crawl, harvest, copy or extract data from the service;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive source code from the service;
- use automated scripts, bots or high-volume requests without permission;
- upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt the service; or
- use ParentRecall in a way that breaches data protection, privacy or safeguarding laws.
11. Your content and licence to us
The information you enter into ParentRecall remains your responsibility.
You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, transmit, back up and display that information solely as needed to provide, secure, support and improve ParentRecall for you and your household.
We do not sell your household data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
12. ParentRecall intellectual property
ParentRecall, including its software, source code, user interface, designs, workflows, brand, logos, trade marks, text and other materials, is owned by Pacedall Labs Ltd or its licensors.
These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you. You are granted a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use ParentRecall in accordance with these Terms.
13. Service availability and changes
We aim to keep ParentRecall reliable and available, but we do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, secure, error-free or available at all times.
We may update, improve, suspend, restrict or discontinue parts of the service, including changing which features are included in a plan, where necessary to maintain, protect, fund or lawfully operate it. Where a material change negatively affects active users, we will give reasonable notice where practical. Any change to the price of your existing plan is dealt with under section 8.
ParentRecall is operated from the United Kingdom, but the service runs on cloud infrastructure provided by third parties. Where your data is stored and processed, which providers are involved, and the safeguards that apply to any transfer outside the UK are set out in our Privacy Policy. That policy is the authoritative statement on hosting location and is updated when our infrastructure changes.
14. Disclaimers
ParentRecall is a personal memory aid. It is not an official record, safeguarding system, school management system, contact database, emergency contact system, identity verification service or childcare management tool.
You should not rely on ParentRecall as the only source of important information. You are responsible for checking important details directly with the relevant person, school, club, organiser or authority.
15. Suspension and termination
You may stop using ParentRecall at any time and may delete your account through the account settings where available.
We may suspend, restrict or terminate your access if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, created risk for other people, misused the service, attempted to bypass security controls, or if we are required to do so by law.
If we close the service entirely, we will aim to give reasonable notice and a reasonable opportunity to export your data where practical.
16. Deletion, export and unused accounts
ParentRecall provides self-service data export and account deletion from the account area.
When you delete your account, the data linked to that account is deleted from live systems, including all children, groups and people recorded in your household. This is subject to limited retained records needed for security, legal compliance, dispute handling or evidence that a deletion request was honoured.
Backup copies may remain for a short period until overwritten in the normal backup cycle.
Unused accounts are deleted automatically. Because ParentRecall holds information about other people, including children, we do not keep household data indefinitely for accounts nobody is using. Dormancy is measured from the last sign-in by the account administrator. If there is no administrator sign-in for 12 months (365 days), the household account and all data in it are permanently deleted, including data added by other household members.
Before that happens we will email the administrator a warning approximately 30 days beforehand and again approximately 3 days beforehand, at the address held on the account. Signing in at any point resets the 12-month period and cancels any pending deletion. After deletion we keep only a minimal record that the deletion took place.
Keeping the email address on your account up to date is your responsibility. If you want to keep your data, sign in at least once a year or export it.
17. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or statutory rights that cannot be excluded.
Subject to the above, ParentRecall is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special losses, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of data caused by your own actions, or losses arising from your misuse of the service.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Where you pay for a subscription, any limit on our liability will be applied consistently with your statutory rights as a consumer.
18. Consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
If ParentRecall later introduces paid features or subscriptions, the relevant consumer cancellation, renewal, refund and digital content rules will be set out at the point of purchase and in any additional paid-service terms. Those terms will comply with the UK consumer legislation applicable to subscription contracts at that time, including any pre-contract information, renewal reminder, cooling-off and cancellation requirements.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify users through the website, app or email.
Continuing to use ParentRecall after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
20. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except that if you live in Scotland, Northern Ireland or another part of the UK where mandatory consumer rules give you local rights, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts where required by law.
